Ren was born on a relativistic freighter. Her parents died at the far end of a forty-year subjective loop. Her daughter died of old age while Ren slept through a decel burn. She does not talk about it. She runs. She runs between lanes faster than the Siege horn. She says the future is a place you can sprint into if you want it badly enough. Nobody argues.
